From June 28-30, the 2024 China Padel Tennis Tour CPT-1000 and "Mingchun Cup" Chengdu Padel Tennis Tournament took place in Chengdu. The event was organized by the Tennis Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Chinese Tennis Association, guided by the Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, and hosted by Panda Sports Culture Communication (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.
The 2024 China Padel Tennis Tour CPT-1000 (Chengdu Station) is the highest level national padel tennis event organized by the Chinese Tennis Association. It marks the debut of the 1000-level event in the newly upgraded CPT series.
The tournament lasted for three days, with over 200 athletes from various regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Kunming, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Dongguan, and Dezhou participating.
At the opening ceremony, Li Zhonggui, Chairman of the Chengdu Tennis Association, delivered a welcome speech, congratulating on the hosting of this important event in Chengdu.
Sun Wenbing, Director of the Youth and Public Tennis Department of the Tennis Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Tennis Association, also spoke. He emphasized that padel tennis is an emerging sport with great potential and expressed the Chinese Tennis Association's willingness to collaborate with local tennis associations and clubs to promote the sport and expand its player base.
